Is it cool enough to be blogging about coats? I really wanted to write about these beautiful pieces, but somehow it seemed almost sinful to think of autumn and coats in a middle of summer heat. Well, it's still quite warm now, but since September is officially here, I am going to indulge your imagination and fashion taste buds by introducing my most favourite coats from Autumn/Winter 2009/10 as well as a few gorgeous editorial photos. Personally, I am in love with Bottega, MaxMara, Derek Lam, Hermes and Blumarine (wouldn't be nice to have this (or any other Blumarine) coat to brighten up a grey winter day?), but frankly, I wouldn't say "No" to anything featured in this post, including my forever favourite coat from Vogue Paris 2005.
In my opinion any coat should be seen as an investment. You shouldn't be afraid to pay a little bit more for better quality, classic shape and timeless colours. Black, grey or camel shades will always be on top of my list as well as lambs wool, cashmere and silk fabrics. Buying a classic coat will enable you to wear it for years (now think of cost per wear and even the most extravagant price will look more reasonable) and using it as a base for creating myriads of new looks according to your mood, fashion and choice of shoes, bags and accessories. And one more important thing... Believe it or not, but wearing this luxurious piece every day will make you feel different... gorgeous, feminine, sensual and confident.
